Following on from Mike Lansdown's excellent workshop, March's writing competition was to select a melody or well-known tune, and write new lyrics to the melody or tune. The competition attracted a bumper crop of entries; and the results were as follows:
- 1st place: Louise Welland - Sobriety?
- 2nd place: Joanna Bawa - Lockdown Blues
- 3rd place: Chris McDermott - Walkin' in Watford
- 4th place: Sumi Watters - Watford Writersville
Many thanks to Mike for his workshop; Sumi for printing song sheets for our meeting on Monday 8 April; and everyone who entered into the spirit - really enjoyable exercise.
