June's writing competition was Poetry, but with a difference!
(Thanks to our Sumi for this excellent challenge)
Poets were given the following four broad topics:
- Nature
- Family
- Holidays
- Food
Poets then had to choose one of the topics above for an entry (maximum of two entries per poet).
The challenge was to write three poems as one "collection" but written in three styles: Haiku, Cinquain, and Limerick. The competition proved very popular indeed!
25 Entries were received and can now be read (below).
It's congratulations to:
- 1st place: Louise Welland - Eau de Toilette
- 2nd place: Kay Hall - Airborne
- Joint 3rd place: Chris McDermott - Finding Peace in the Woods; and Joanna Bawa - You Get What You're Given.
Many thanks to all who entered.
